It says in the proclamation that there will be major changes in the dedicated hunter program next year, does anyone know what they are?? I am trying to decide whether or not to join this year, but I hate to be tied to something they could change on me next year. I am a lifetime license holder, so the tag is not the issue.

The two biggest changes I have heard about has to do with starting this year you will need to complete all your service hours before a tag will be issued the second year. So 8 hours needs to be done the first year then the final 16 done before getting a tag the second year.

The biggest change has to do with how tags are issued. After this year the 10,000 cap will probley be met. To join the program next year you will have to draw from one of the unknown number of open slots as people finish there three year program this year. If you join this year while it is still first come first serve for the open slots then you will be ok for the next three years.

This is what I have heard anyway. If anybody has any more info please share it.

You can join a couple of different ways. Online or in person. I just did it online today. Wasn't bad at all. You have to take a little test, (and get 100% to pass). Then print out an application form, fill it out, send in your $180 bucks, and your good to go! Pretty simple! Just make sure you attend a RAC meeting, and get your hours in.
