Dean's Alberta Brute

Wow, can somebody say dreambuck? How old is the guy? And 200 yds from his house! "hey mom, will you bring me some cofee and cookies please?" (as he glasses from his porch!) lol I'm not saying he's lazy at all just thinking how cool it would be to see a deer like that close to your house.

Michael~All Gods creatures welcome... right next to the mashed potatoes and gravy.

That's a great buck, and congrats to Dean. I'd be glad to come to Dean's gouse and cut firewood or help with chores if there are bucks like that around. Just another good reason for me to want to come to Alberta.

What a monster. Congrats Dean on a beauty......what it would be like to have deer hunting country that close to your house.......... Allen Taylor......

And there you have it.......Looks like a Top Contender in the buck cat. Congradulations to Dean for harvesting a great clean Typcial. Dandy of a buck, you will chase them for many years trying to find and match that caliber of a typical, just as DeerKing said it, "it is nice to see a GREAT buck without all the trash"......Dwayne

I don't know, there's something not quite right about this "deer". As you can plainly see in the top and bottom picture, this "deer" is obviously the head of some wacky cross between a golden retreiver or irish setter and a huge mule deer buck, and domesticated very well to let the lucky young man sit right on top of him.

Seriously though, one very good buck.

WOW that is a HUGE buck!!! That would sure fill my dreams if I could take one like that.

That is one hell of a buck!! Congrats to him. There sure is alot of nice bucks in the photo album. Congrats to all of the hunters, someday I might get lucky enough to join the crowd.

Nice job Dean that is one heck of a buck, How many times have you seen this buck, was he a regular around the farm or was he just passing thru chasing does. Got to be happy that he was breeding does around your place.

Awesome buck! there has been some monster Mulies taken out of this area through out the years, knew a guide outfitter that use to run out of that area, that was several years ago when the population of trophy deer were plenty, now it's alot harder to find such brutes, ones odds are about as good as winning the lotto! Hope he realizes hope fortunate he was! Ya , I am jealous.

You guys seemed to have a few questions about the deer. My dad took the deer on the last day of the season, in the slough next to our house. The guy in the picture is my little brother, not the guy who shot it. As the 60 day drying period is not over yet but according to the local B & C measurer it will net around 204 with few deductions and no abnormal points. The area we live in seems to produce quality mulies, as within only a mile from the house a 171 and a 178 were taken in the last couple years. So there is always quality animals around. The Deer has been around for a few years, but since it takes 5 years to get drawn i guess we hit the right year the deer isnt that old only 3 or 4. This has been a pretty successful year for my dad, a 150 class whitetail a cougar and this deer, anyways, thank ya guys for the compliments.

Heronfish,
Make sure you pass the congrats on to your dad. That is one incredible buck. Nice to see another true Canadian Monster.

Jerry

If matters to any of yah, we had the deer officially scored at 205 3/8s net typical, with just over 4 inches of deductions. Hopefully ull see the deer in a few publications in the future.

So that puts it as the #2 Alberta typical eh? Awesome! Looking forward to reading the story in the mags.
