As some have read, I'll be up to my neck in remodel construction this year. I really don't want to draw wyoming as I won't have the time, but I don't want to just buy a point and miss out on at least a chance at a great tag. I want to put in for the very BEST OF THE BEST WY has to offer for a DIYer non-res, so in other words no wilderness. If drawn I'll make time to do it right. I've been studying the odds and hunt tables, but just wondering what your thought were.

LAST EDITED ON Jan-18-07 AT 04:22PM (MST)[p]I was going to post a similiar question so thought I'd add onto yours Forkwest and hope you don't mind. I've got one point and am going to buy a 2nd point for elk this year for WY as I don't want to start applying till 2008. I was reading in the regs something about a max points for elk of 2. Anyone know if that is correct or what they mean by that? With two points could one expect to draw a decent unit in WY??

Last year was the first for deer/elk/antelope points so 1 is all you can have. max points at this stage of the game won't mean much unless you're after an easy tag.

LAST EDITED ON Jan-18-07 AT 05:38PM (MST)[p]Thanx Huntindude, if I'm interpreting that right I'm in a good position then as I'd have the max points at this point?? I'm heading to CO this fall and, if I win the lottery, to Utah although I'm not holding my breath on that.

Forkwest, sounds like you wouldn't be far behind the rest and may have a chance at drawing WY but I'm sure there are others more knowledgeable about that state who can tell you more.
