colorado elk hunting unit 11,211

hey guys just wondering how the elk hunting and deer hunting is in unit 11/211. iam planning a trip with my girlfriend this fall to hunt elk and deer out there. it will be during the 3rd rifle season. is the elk over the counter? well just wondering if i could get pointed in the right direction on what it is like out there. and how much public land is out there. i can trade idaho elk and deer info also!

Bull elk is over the counter, cow is by draw. Usually left-over cow tags. The area is swarming with elk, though not that many good bulls. Pray for snow just before or at the start of the season. The area has a lot of sage and oak brush and aspen, not a lot of dark timber hunting. Lot of elk hunters in these units. Good luck.
