LAST EDITED ON Jan-21-07 AT 10:00PM (MST)[p]anyone have any information on these two units? i dont have a point from last year so i need a semi easy unit to draw, any info woul help. im looking for a unit that has a decent elk population, maybe a chance at a 320 bull that i can bow hunt i have seen the country from the hiway but thats about all i know about it.

Call the bioligist for this area. I talked to him last year about it before the draw and he was very helpful. We did not draw so did not get a chance to put his info to use. Good Luck.

I hunted 25/27 a couple a years ago. From my experience the elk were in the private ground early in the season,towards the end of OCT they move into that open country in the south . Not much of a trophy area.Seen a couple a bulls around 320 nothing bigger.Miners Delight has a bar and some HUGE t-bone steaks.

area 25 is alot private. You can still get around on blm or forrest with a good map and a gps. Not to many big bulls but a few. If you are going to use an outfitter I would stay away from five nine outfitters. He will talk a good store and you will see elk but he can't or won't get you on them.

I was in 28 about 5 years ago. For about two days. Wised up and went elsewhere. Couldn't get the ringing out of my ears from all the motors!
How 'bout letting the thousand guys with Gens. there riding a thousand ATV's (some guys brought two for good measure!) blow the Elk right off the mountain into your lap!!
