Gardner late tag

Anyone heard anything? Wasn't there a guy here who got the sportsman's tag and was waiting on this hunt to harvest a bull?

I only get to live great hunts like this through others 'cause I certainly don't draw out. I NEED to know. :)

Wasn't as good as it used to be. Bulls coming out of the hunts weren't the normal 360 + as usual. Alot of 330 bulls and scabbies infected. It might be only a few years left of this hunt. Weather didn't help either as the bulls were quite aways from the roads. JDAN is the guy who had the supertag. Killed a 330 bull with no regrets. Got to pass on alot better bulls and have a lot of fun doiung it.

I know the wolves have hit that herd pretty hard. In fact, last time I was floating through Yankee Jim there a few miles from Gardner, saw a raggedy @$$ wolf with a radio collar not too far from the road.

Two of my friends had that tag last year. The one shot a 380 bull and the other was in the 370's. They saw and videoed 200 bulls and saw some monsters. I can't believe that it dropped off that much in one year. The bulls in that area definatly have their favorite spots and you just have to find them.

They are die hards and did mention that everyone else seemed to be hunting around roads.

The hunt is over, the tag is filled, I took my bull on the fourth day I hunted in Gardiner, I killed a beautiful 9 yr old 6X6. I guess he probably scores in the mid 330's. He actually was the best bull that I had a chance at during this part of the hunt. We had to ride for a couple of hours in the dark to get up high where the bulls were, what a great experience, no road hunting for us, If I wanted to road hunt I could have a killed a 360+ bull a hundred yards from the truck during November. I had a great season, I made a couple of new friends along the way that I know I will meet up with again on a future hunts, I am wondering if I will ever draw another tag, you would think that with my AZ mule deer tag and the supertag that I have spent it all luck one person could ever have. We'll see! jd

Just curious Jordan how did the Elkhorns treat you? i remember hearing you say you planned on hunting there also.

The Elkhorns were great during the archery hunt, probably the best hunting I had was there in Sept. To many people running around during November.
