Spike hunts

I know Utah has spike only elk hunts.
What other states have yearling only hunts?

WASHINGTON state, east of cascade mountains spike only for general season rifle,archery,and muzzleloader. OREGON, northeast corner, spike only for some units, any bull for others, need a set of regs to figure it all out. good hunting , jason

Oregon. And they're really proud of killing off all the yearling bulls. It was all fine and dandy for the first couple of years--big bulls everywhere. Now, all those daddy bulls are going away and the yearling recruitment is nill. What doesn't get killed by cougars gets killed by a hunter. Spikes very rarely leave the herd so they is easy targets.

Washington correct, but in general archery season you can also stick a cow.

I dont understand why Oregon has so many spike hunts. Some are a 100% chance to draw. Killing off all our up and comming branch bulls is just plain stupid, its like having a forked horn only deer hunt.

Montana does too in the Elkhorns, ive always heard its not worth a damn though and I wouldnt want to mess up the guys hunts that have the real bull tags anyway.
