These fine bucks were taken by David Nagel and his 15 year old son Paden in the 2003 rifle season. Davids buck scored 183 even, with a bullet in the left antler courtesy of Paden. Padens buck scored 191 4/8 typical for the Henry Kelsey and B&C books. It was Padens first time drawn for mule deer, he had spotted him in late summer, and was able to shoot him on November 10, 2003.

I'd love to have a hunt turn out to be that good with my dad, you guys are lucky! Looks like Paden's buck might make the magical 30 inch mark.

WOW! AWESOME! Congrats to those guys bigtime!! To take 2 deer 180+ is a great thing!

Michael~All Gods creatures welcome... right next to the mashed potatoes and gravy.

Super buck and a super hunt for a dad and son. But I wonder about the hat. Tarkanian's legacy is international.

On behalf of David and Paden, Thanks for the compliments.
They have no internet access at home, so Paden will be checking in from school or a friends house to share more of the hunt.

We are fortunate to live in an area with such great deer, unfortunate to only be drawn every three years or so to hunt them. Residents can buy a tag for bow season, but there are not as many bow hunters around here (it may have something to do with a lack of tall trees on the bald ass prairie to put a stand in, or the amount of cacti you would have to sit in, crawl through and wait for some rattler finding his way home for the winter to slither by )
