Well, it's that time of year again-applications. For me, this is one of the best parts about hunting. Studying draw odds, maps, hunt regs, and dreaming about drawing the "TAG."

Just curious how many points you guys have and in what states?
Here's my portfolio;

Utah: 8 elk, 7 moose
Arizona: 5 elk, 5 deer, 3 antelope
Colorado: 3 deer
Montana: 1 combo
Nevada: 2 elk, 0 deer-drew last year
Wyoming: 4 moose, drew deer last 3 years regular region G
Idaho: NADA, wish they had points, last year was the first year I haven't hunted up there in several years. My 2003 license made good fire starter though.
New Mexico: Haven't drawn a deer tag in 4 years.

Good luck to you all in the draws!

Well here's my deck of cards, still no Ace's though...

For Colorado I have :

4 Deer
2 Elk
6 Antelope
1 Turkey

Utah:

2 Deer

Nevada is the best chance to draw this year.

Nevada: 5 deer, 6 antelope, 6 sheep
Utah: 9 deer, 5 moose
Wyoming: 4 moose
Colorado: 5 deer, 5 elk
Arizona: 5 deer, 2 sheep, 1 elk
Montana: 2 sheep

Like everyone else, every year, I think that this is the year, but we'll see. I feel like I've got a decent chance for deer in Nevada and Utah, ya never know about Az. I drew a strip tag in 2000 so my luck is shot there for a while.

Arizona: Elk-7 Deer-4 Antelope-4

Colorado- Deer-3

Nevada- Deer-4 Antelope-3

Utah- Deer-6

Colorado - Deer 1 point Elk 4 points Antelope 3 points Moose 2 points

Arizona - Elk and Deer 1 point

Nevada - First year applying

Utah - Deer 3 points

Colorado - Deer 4 Elk 4

Oregon - Deer 3 Antleope 3

Arizona - Elk 3 Deer 3 *but I will have 4 for both after the supp. hunters safety class in May.

Idaho - Sucks for drawing anything for me. 13 years without a single elk, deer or antelope tag.

I don't have any points because I only apply in Idaho. I have applied for 6 years without drawing a single tag for deer, elk or antelope.

Prism,
I use to think that Idaho should start a preference/bonus point system but now that I know more about them I am glade that Idaho doesn't.

WY get my 3rd moose pnt this year, 5th sheep

Going into this years draw:
CO 3+1 (sheep - one weighted pnt), 3 goat (0 weighted), 4 elk 1 deer

MT 2pnts each goat& sheep

UT 2 elk, 1 sheep

NV trying but no pnts sheep, goat

AZ 1 elk, 1 sheep, 1 deer

NM, trying(elk, ibex, orynx, sheep)buying landowner elk if no tag

MN 4 moose

PA 1 elk

Good luck to everyone not applying for the same hunts as me!

Looks like some of you should be drawing some tags in '04. I'm not counting on anything this year. I'm pretty sure I could draw the Montana combo tag, but other than that it's pretty futile.

I'd sure like to get my Utah elk hunt over with so I could put in for deer. If I had to do it all over again I'd put in for deer and mountain goats in Utah.

My first unsuccessful results should be in the mail next week for the Utah turkey. Hope it doesn't set a trend for the year, unless it says I finally drew.

Colorado:

0 pronghorn
2 deer
14 elk
3/0 sheep
3/0 goat
3/0 moose

Just curious, if you could hunt elk anywhere in CO, where would it be? I'm a couple of years from actually putting in for a specific unit, so I should have 16-17 points by then. I guess it's time to start doing some serious thinking, though.
