2006 Oquirh-Stansbury Draw...

Any of you out there draw the LE Archery Elk tag for this unit last year or maybe the year before??? I went to the DWR website and evidently you cannot look at who drew what, where anymore for privacy acts. I've got a good chance of drawing up there and wanted to know what kind of success the guys/gals had up there on the archery hunts in the past. I have always seen some nice bulls up there, just was wondering what people have experienced up there. If you know someone who did draw up there, have them post or PM me.

Well lets see...

First, Kennocott or sombody is going to build or is building by now, a new subdivision over there on all the wintering grounds...

Second, alot or most of it is owned by Kennocott and they have there own drawings for employees for who will be allowed to hunt on it...

But I have heard and seen some nice Bulls in the Stansbury area in fact I believe that a nice 3-antlered elk was hit on I80 last year. In the spring you will see a few next to the highway licking up the salt.I havent heard much about the deer in the area, but have seen a few in the Dugway Army depot area.

I kind of look at it as a area where you need landowner permission to access the BLM land, mostly landlocked. I beleive you can access a few areas if you go in behind Utah Lake, but there were alot of ATV trails and that put me off.
