Does anyone have a elk pedestal shoulder mount picture that they could share?I had the good fortune of harvesting my bull of a lifetime this past season and would like to get it mounted, the catch being I have 7 foot ceilings in my house.Any suggestions?

Carl Chavez out of Los Lunas, NM did this one. I hope this works, first time downloading pics. If not here is the url

If he is very big then thats going to be one short pedestal.

Good Luck with that.

Rob,

Email it to me and I'll post it for you. (I'd like to see it also. I'm still trying to decide what to do with my elk from last year.)

Drifter, 7' ceilings are going to kill you unless you do some kind of turn or super sneek w/ a short pedestal. You may need to almost have it on the floor w/ habitat. Idealy I think that the animal should be @ natural height or eye to eye with you. You may have to have the antlers detachable as well to get it through doors. Measure your house and your taxidermist will take care of business. I have 10' cielings @ home but wanted to be able to take mine to work so my taxidermist struggled to balance the mount under 8'. Also most pedestal mounts require 360 degree viewing. This will eat a room. I think that is great. Your wife may not.

No doubt I will regret it... but go ahead and post 'em... I sent them to ya this early morning.

Thanks, Robb

PleaseDear's pics as requested. (Nice mounts and a great looking trophy room) Okay lets give it a try...

Your taxidermist turns out some great work thats for sure also tell the guy who made your pedestal I think it turned out nice couldnt have been built any better.ktc did a good job on the finish sure makes the wood stand out.
Now everyone wants to see it might as well post a photo ktc.

I made the pedestal... they wanted close to $1000.00 because of the size needed for two pedestal mounts on one pedestal...

I'm off 1/4 inch on perfectly square... must have been the Crown...
