Idaho Sawtooth Elk Hunting

Hi all-
Looking to return to the Sawtooths this year after a successful year in 05 and 06. Since the season dates aren't published yet, does anyone know when the first date of the rifle season would be? Does the opening day stay the same every year or is it the second saturday of october? I would just like to make my plans well in advance.

I think it usally stays the same for the B tag. Deer season starts on the 2nd tuesday. They did shorten deer season in 06 taking a few days off the end of the season. Dates usally out around May.

The Sawtooth elk hunt(B tag antlered only, any weapon) starts October 15th and runs to Nov. 8.
