Well it seems the military decided to go light on this miserable deserter's life. Now he can go back to Idaho and rub elbows with FTW who probably thinks he is a hero.

More than eight years after Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl walked off his base in Afghanistan -- and unwittingly into the clutches of the Taliban -- Bergdahl walked out of a North Carolina courtroom a free man on Friday.


Bergdahl, who pleaded guilty to endangering his comrades, was fined, reduced in rank to E1 and dishonorably discharged -- but he received no prison time.

As part of the sentence, Bergdahl will forfeit his pay of $1000 per month for ten months.


Bergdahl was shaking and appeared emotional as the verdict was quickly read.
 
Oh ya I am sure the bleeding hearts will be happy. Who cares about the men who fight and die to do what is right and really protect our rights ?

Nothing to do with the Uniform Military Code. A deserter from Viet Nam who eventually was arrested from getting a traffic ticket got 5 years according to another site where the author knew the man. This was the judge's decision on the sentencing. The damage is done and now he has to hide out from people who don't like him.

Just another sentence reflecting the time we live in. It seems our justice system has gotten so liberal and giving out light sentences is the norm any more.
Look at the suspects convicted of murder and getting out in 10-15 years when we use to put them to death 40 years ago.
Nothing wrong with the justice system or the UCMJ, what is wrong is the liberals that are now sitting behind the bench.
In 1965 while in the Army basic training, we had one of trainees go AWOL during the third week of training. He was picked up out of state during our final week and he got one year in prison and a dis-honorable discharge and that was not in a war zone.
Our on board fake patriotic American feels Bergdahl's sentence was ok.

I never said whether I agree or disagree with Bergdahl's sentence, You should sue the school system that attempted to learn you to read.

I said the judge ruled, per the UCMJ and the Judge had to consider whether the Commander In Chief's comments made it impossible for Bergdahl to have a fair trial. You per the U.S. Constitution all you faker pretend to love.

Personally I wish he would have been killed by the Taliban or somebody who could done us all a favor.

The orange chit stain did the same thing when he shot his mouth off about the raghead in NY this week. he's too dumb to learn from his many mistakes.

It's unfortunate Bergdhal made it home alive but he did and the military handled it on their terms . and 5 years in raghead captivity could pass as punishment in anyone's book so it isn't as if he walked scot free.

As an aside I never voted for Obama and didn't support his policies because most of them will haunt us. Trumpettes simply don't care what the impact of Trump's policies are, they will support him regardless. So there's that.

Now as for Bergdahl, please explain why you all believe that the rules shouldn't apply to him like they do every one else? Why do you pretend to love the Constitution? Or the Military?

I trust the judgement of this Col. over the judgement of the fakers on this site. I don't like the sentence because it seems way to light but I wasn't there to weigh all the evidence, hear the testimony and have to rule on the case.
