This Pennsylvania Elk made it through the early winter and limited hunting season, unfortunely he never hits the mountains until the rut, then during the limited hunt this year, he was able to get into the "restricted" hunt area..This pic was taken in mid-january, before we got alot of snow. Any ideas on what he would score, Im pretty sure he is a 10 x 9, and he getting quite old.

he'll go 370+ non-typ easy, very nice lookin rack. elaborate more on the 'limited' and 'restricted' hunting season... archery and ML only? # of tags? antler restrictions?

There were 40 tags 15 bull 25 cow Season was nov 6-11 for 2006

In 2005 there were 40 tags 35 elk killed 25 cows 10 bulls.

PA killed as many B&C elk since 2000 as Idaho, unreal.

I wish they made a point system that was not useless. 3 points is the max and 98% of apps have 3 points so it does not help you at all! I apply every year and without points will never draw.

As far as score I am not good but gross NT I would say 375 too, wild guess.

PA elk are huge, I have been to see them

As far as the restricted areas the break down the area open to hunting, they beak down into 10 zones. Seven areas are open to hunting, so the big boys move tho the "restricted areas". But they are still puttin up some huge B&C bulls each year, even with a few tags. For a resident, it costs $10 (non-refundable) to apply, then you have to buy a tag, if selected..I think it is the same application fee for non-residents, but your tag and out-of-state lic. is alot more.

Seeing how PA never REALLY has a drought, as opposed to AZ, I tell everyone to apply for PA because of bulls like that! They don't have to worry about shrinking!
