new mexico 4,51,53

Because of work i can only hunt elk hunt on the oct 6-10 season in units 4 Sargent area (draw) or units 51,or 53 on public ground . Does anybody know if they are good areas?

At that date, all will be be fair to good. The Sargent, if drawn is awesome anytime. Units 51 and 53 are good if you know where they are. Pre scouting and talking to the bow hunters should help raise odds of success. Good Luck-Jim

the sargent is supposed to be excellent from what i hear very tough to draw tho

I would rate 51 & 53 as tough units, unless you have some inside information.
