Hey Guys,

I got my '06 bull back last week from the taxidermist. I promised I would show some pictures, but I cannot post pictures, nor do I want to learn.;-) Could someone post them if I sent them to ya?

Paul Pennie (BLT) did the taxidermy work. He does an awesome job as you will see. His turnaround time was unreal and he took time to come out to the house and set things up. I could not be more happy with him.

A neighbor of mine, did the pedestal. He also did a great job. He does woodwork, but I put pressure on him to do something he had never done. It turned out perfect and also did a quick turnaround.

Hi KTC, just curious if you found out the age of your bull yet from fish and game? I'm trying to figure out how to myself!! Thanks - Brian

I am thinking as I look at your new edition to your home I would sure like a elk mount like that.Lets get-r-done this year and maybe my dream of a mount like that will come true.I wont hold my breath on taking a bull that big but its just a dream.
Good job on harvesting such a great animal love the mass of this beast.
Good job PP on bringing this bull back to life.
Good job on your pedestal man, that looks great what kind of wood was used?It sure shows off the colors in the elk cape.
Hard to notice the cape when all I see is MASS on this one.

He sticks out just under 5' from the wall.

The wood is knotty alder. I am still moving him around a bit to figure out where he "fits" the best?

He dont care about scores to much, the last thing he told me before going on his hunt is Looking for a bull that gets me excited with good mass.He did well.
Lets start the guessing the score game.I know the score so it would not be fair for me to post a score.It will be good practice going off the pictures.
Lets see some scores for fun.

That bull is a stud.
In this day & age of FOUR HUNDRED INCH BULLS a lot of us have forgotten the enjoyment of taking a bull as goood as this one (if we are ever so lucky).

That is one beautiful mount! Paul sure does a nice job. Congrats again on a huge bull. I have got a feeling your are going to need to get a 2nd pedestal ordered. I can't wait to see both of them in the same room! You done good man!

What a great bull and mount KTC! Congrats on both fronts. I don't think you'll be getting into that room anytime soon if you add another bull like that :)

I called the DWR today and asked for the age of my elk based on the teeth I sent in....He was aged at 11. Past his prime?

I like the fact an old bull can live to 11 in Utah!;-)

I wondered... being that old, how did he eat? (as in taste, tough, tender, etc)

Yeah great. He almost died of old age and UT just keeps letting them grow old, taste like sh*t, and oops sorry maybe in 30 years we will let you hunt there. Morons.

Aw, KT, don't let the boys rile you up. That's a damn fine bull, and a beautiful mount....I have to laugh though, cuz it looks like yer rec room is gonna be arranged around your mounts.

Just like my living room. LOL Wouldn't have it any other way, my friend. I know that you look at that bull, that lion and that buck occasionally when your sitting in a chair or on the couch and next thing you know your mind is wandering and right back on the hillside again.

The bull in my living room still has the sap on his bases....it smells awesome and triggers all sorts of daydreaming for me.

That is a great bull. Nice mount. I am not normally a fan of pedastal mounts, but now that I look at this one, I don't think you would want to do it any other way. Pretty job. Great bull!

Roy, I like you, am partial to wall mounts. The problem I had here was the beam would have stuck through the wall on a wall mount. We tried to cheat to get him on the wall to no avail.

Predator, these guys are not riling me up! fd just tries to be belligerent. I have better situated him since the pictures on here and he "fits" in the room nicely. the mrs just needs one for the other corner now.;-)
 
Dang that's a shame that you couldn't fit him on the wall...LOL!

You ought to press PleaseDear to repost his and Mrs pedestal mounts. They both shot about the same class bulls, he had 'em mounted fighting, it's pretty cool!

Now post a close-up of the kitty so we can really get Bessie going!
