Greetings:
I am one lucky hunter. When I got my mail today, I had an envelope from the Wyoming Dept of Wildlife. I assumed it was my tag refund for elk, since I did not get drawn. Opened the envelope, looking for the check, and all I could find was a non-resident elk tag for Unit 3. Finally got around to reading the letter, here is the relevant statement:
?During the after draw audit, we found a small rounding issue which caused your license to not be issued during the draw process. We have corrected the problem and issued your license.?
I think I had better buy a lottery ticket tomorrow.
My partner also drew, Unit 24 bull, so we are going to be busy.
It seems likely that this problem affected other unit draws, so maybe there is still hope for some of you who did not draw.
The only problem this has caused is that I had talked to a couple of landowners about paying a trespass fee if I got drawn, and I promised to get back to them as soon as the results came out. Hopefully, I am not too late.
Regardless, it is great to be going elk hunting in Wyoming this year.
