The rut is over, antlers are dropping, the gloomy days of no-horned bucks are upon us. But it won't be too much longer till my favorite deer watching time. Here are some pics from last year. Thanks for looking....

Thanks for the fix Jeff! It will be summer before we all know it and then we can feed our addiction.

Jeff:

You must have read my mind, as I was just going to ask you to post some velvet muleys for us all. Thanks, I'm counting down the days for the archery season you know. :)

Jeff,
You must have been reading my mind too. I've been sitting here bored out of my mind all day dreaming about high country velvet. Only five more months to go!!! Thanks for posting those awesome pics.

Awesome Jeff!
Still a week or two before all of them drop. Today only two bucks out of eight seen had dropped and only one of those lost both sides.
I miss the time in between as well but it is a good time to look for sheds and get in shape. Well, the in shape part is meant for me not the DeerKing who is half mountain goat.LOL
Thanks for sharing again.
Best,
Jerry

DK,

Wicked awesome as usual. Just what I needed. Nothin prettier then a buck in velvet...THanks for the pick-me-up.

You got some hog deer there King, thanks for sharing. Got anymore we can look at?

Stuning, just great!!! I know how much you like that insane timberline country, cant wait to this years pitcures. yep post some more, i know you have some.

Man that buck in the 5th picture sure is a tall one, Very nice pictures Thanks alot Jeff it what we need right now for a after the season blues. Do you get to see these same deer and elk down on the winter grounds and do you get a chance at finding these same deer and elk horns after the shedding period.

Thanks for posting those pics again! Cant wait to see what you come up with this summer!

Thanks for the nice words fellers.

75% of my photos show up here and nowhere else. I've sold a few but I'm not in it to make money. I do it mostly for my own personal enjoyment and I know some guys here like to see them as well.

I see none of the deer during the winter, they end up spending most of their time in the mid elevation ponderosa forest where they are hard to find. The elk make it down further and are a fairly common sight in the foothills this time of year.

I remember seeing a few of these pics before but it sure is nice to see them again. Gotta love the high country! Thanks for the pics.

Leave it to the King to get some of those older MM members out of the word work and post again. AZ402 & BuckSnort.....long overdue and nice to hear from you guys.

Roy, DK's threads are always worth a look. I've been here off and on the last few months. Will be off again for a week due to the RMEF national show......Stan

Thanks BOHNTR. I still check in once in a while but I have been pretty busy at work lately. All work and very little play. I usually pretty much live on the winter range this time of year but I havn't gone out to look at the bucks much lately and it's killing me!

Thanks DK. The pics are up to your high standards. It gets me fired up for some summer hiking/backpacking. Out of curiosity, do you know if any of these deer were taken in 2003? I'm trying to figure out which one might have my '04 tag hanging on him and I only want dreams that can come true.
