Screwed by credit card theft !!!!

Since we buy our licenses early, nornally we just send in a check for all the applications. With the earlier draw this year, we put in this year on my hunting partners credit card. The number was stolen last week, and fraud alert notified him of several thousand dollars in charges from out of state. Needless to say, he cancelled the card following that episode, and got a new one issued.

Trying to substitute numbers was futile, as they had already conducted the draw and had started charging peoples cards. He called the main office and was told "Sorry, it is too late. We try a card 5 times, then move on to the next.

The killer in this whole mess is the fact he used it for Wyoming, Utah, and New Mexico also. I don't know how it affects the bonus point accrual either. I probably wouldn't have drawn, but I would have liked a chance. BUMMER!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Years ago Utah told me they would call and give you a second chance, they did with someones mnt goat tag last year

And I hear you can change NM right up until the deadline so 2 out of 3 you should be ok

That is right on the NM. If you did it online you have an account and I believe you will be notified on your account page that there is a problem. It will say "need more information" and you will have an opportunity to change card numbers.

Thanks for the comments. We changed cards for both the Utah and New Mexico draws. several others and Wyoming were on mine, which has no problems. The lady in AzG&F that he talked to said basically "You're screwed". Couldn't change once they started to draw and charge. They would try five times, then move on to the next.

In Utah they will contact you and give you a chance to pay in an alternative way! Same thing happened to me a few years ago, SUCKS! Sorry Blank!

why sweat it "ALL" of the states will work with you ....really
just they may want a cashiers check to cover the charges..

anyone know if any states actually use AVS or compare billing address of the card they are charging? say you sent your app with one billing address, then move before the drawing. card is still good, but address has changed. anyone?
