Guys, You know how I type and can Figure out I sure as heck don't like to read. That being said I do have to say Ryan's book is top notch. (And I like the Pictures too :)

Ryan's put alot of thought behind it and it is a great book. You should really get one !!!

Got my book yesterday and all I can say is WOW! Idaho popped out some monsters back in the day. It was sad to see how few of trophy deer they have put out lately. I wish the F&G would do something to bring back the incredible mule deer that once were in Idaho.

Mine should be on its way. I sent the check about 5 days ago!

Who has looked at the BC Biggest BUcks book? I am thinking about tyring to find that one....BC boy has me all hard!

Hornseeker,
How do I respond to a post like that. LMFAO!!! That's the last time I'll ever post pics. ROTFL!!! The book you'd be looking for is Trophy Deer and Elk of British Columbia by Rick Berreth. It is by far the best book in my collection. I drool over the pics all the time. It is out of print now, but you may be able to find it online somewhere. When I talked with Rick back in 2001, he was thinking about possibly putting out another Edition. I sure hope he does because there has been a whack of monsters taken in the province since the book was written, plus the old timer Bannister Buck was found.

The Trophy Wildlife Records Club of BC just released the latest edition of the Big Game Records of BC. It is loaded with all species records in the province. It can still be ordered at http://www.members.shaw.ca/wildliferecordsofbc/pages/wildl_rec_1pag.html

I definately want to pick up this new Idaho book. Looks like it will have some great pics and some great stories.

This is the best book of all the state and province record books. The stories are as entertaining as the pictures of monster bucks. From malaria to suicides to not being able to retrieve a monster buck for two years due to US service commitments, this record keeping book is very informative and useful. Way to go Ryan.

Guys, I appreciate all the compliments. I can't tell you how important it was to me that the book be done right, with the proper respect for these great animals. I'm sure, as with anything, that there will be detractors, but it has been very nice to hear how well everyone is receiving the book. The comments have been pretty overwhelming. My main objectives were to get the stories right, paint in in the proper light, and make it worthy of the subject matter. I know I have done the best I can (six years worth), I just hope it is enough! Glad you guys are enjoying it!

Glad to have made ya smile BC!

I would sure like to see one of these done for Montana too. There have been some bruisers over the years and I"ll bet there are a slug of them hanging in bars and stores and barns that would make some good stories.

I'm gonna look for the BC one. I love Utah's Biggest Bucks, that was my first one and still my favorite, hope this one blows it away!

LAST EDITED ON Mar-09-04 AT 03:52PM (MST)[p]Wyoming's Finest Mule Deer by David Long and Scott Mansor is another that is done up very good. And the best part is that there will be a 2nd edition coming out later, hopefully this fall.

Brian

P.S. Ryan, as the old saying goes; "The check is in the mail". Looking forward to receiving your Idaho Book.

I got MINE!!!!

Any body who loves Mule Deer is making a big mistake not to buy this book.
It will be a collectors item in no time!!!
First editions of this quality sell out quickly.
I bought more than one as an investment.
I even have a little one in the book from 1967 when I was 17 years old.
Good luck Ryan!!!!

RE: I got MINE!!!!

Aly, thank you for the nice comments. It is nice to see people are liking it. I wanted it to be something special. Even got orders from Hornseeker and Kilowatt the other day. They are on their way boys!
