I have a good friend who drew a 4A NR Archery tag. I was not so lucky. Can anyone comment or offer any advice on this unit. More than likely this will be his one and only Elk hunt in Arizona for his lifetime, so any help would be appreciated.

4A has a lot of 280-320 bulls in it. Every now and then it will produce something better. I have hunted 4A 7 times over the last 12 yrs. Don't be affraid to hunt the cedars up north. Like I said lots of 280-320 bulls. If he gets a shot at a 310 or better he should take it!

Not sure what happened on the last post? Anyway, not sure what area your talking about on Cedars up North. I guess he can figure that out. He will be on DIY hunt and will be there for entire season so he should have time to explore most of the unit. A 300 Bull is nothing to sneeze at and most places outside Utah & Az. a 300 Bull is above the norm. Thanks for the info. We call Texas home. Hope you won't hold that against us.

TK, My brother and I had that tag in 04'.A very enjoyable hunt. We saw lots of bulls and both harvested 300 class bulls. We saw a few that might have gone 320-330, and a broken off antler that looked to be in at least the 340 range. I will try to e-mail you some specifics later

Great unit. I am jealous. Unit is loaded with elk and he will have no problem getting into them.
