$131 Billion

Republicans worked out a "deal" and Trump says it is "Vital" to pass the deal.

Quote:
It would increase domestic spending by $131 billion and defense spending by $165 billion over the next two years, provide nearly $90 billion in disaster aid and extend the debt limit for one year ? until well after the midterm elections.

Wonder if Trump will sign the bill when it passes or will he take a stand and cut that new added spending?

Nemont

Even Ted Cruz is voting for it because he finally got his government cheese.

Quote:
The addition of disaster relief brought Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, who often votes against spending bills, on board.

"This latest disaster relief bill is the next step in our State?s road to recovery," Cruz said in a statement. "And I am gratified that (Sen.) John Cornyn, (R-Texas,) and I have been able to build upon and improve the bill that was sent to us by the House of Representatives to give the state of Texas the resources it desperately needs."

I'm pretty sure California is exempt from that spending ,our Governor told all of us taxpayers to Belly up to the Bar and pay more fuel taxes to pay for our roads ,I'm not seeing much fixed and I'm confident the money is being spent on other good things.

It doesn't matter if he signs it or not. If he does, he's an a-hole and if he doesn't, he's an a-hole.

But I think he will because it should help the fake conservative Republicans in the mid terms.

I thought that ends shouldn't justify the means? Or is it now the debt and spending don't matter much because Republicans are better at spending borrowed money?

If we are going to add a Trillion plus a year to the debt does it matter who wins this fall?

Yes...it matters. With Trump and republicans in charge , the road to hell will be lined with better judges and less regulations....

So none of you much care about the debt just that we get there without too much regulation. Makes perfect sense as long as you don't have to use your brain for anything important.

So can any of you explain why we need more debt in a growing economy or have you done an elkass and just accepted that Trump is a fiscal liberal?

He is your hero defend his spending, I am anxious to hear an explanation for the cheerleading.

I have no defense...I hate it....WTF can I do about it?.....hate him like you do?....

Other than the spending....I like what he is doing.

Why don't you direct some of your hate to the corruption being exposed?

Why not call a spade a spade? You like what he is doing, great I don't like adding trillion no to the debt.

I hate corruption and I don't support. Trump will prove as corrupt as any of them. Then what. You think there are not skeltonsbin his past that will be exposed?

if I thought a single person was going to be brought to justice over what is coming to light I would get worked up about it. Since the Trump DOJ isn't going to ever prosecute Hillary, Obama, Comey et al I can't get too excited about he said she said.

Now show me the congressional Investigations that will put these bad actors back on the right side of Justice.

If you can't then you should accept that it isn't me who doesn't care, it is Trump?s AG and Republicans in Congress.

Answer why conservatives are cheering on trillions more in debt. I have not heard a single word why you support that and still claim to be conservative.

It Must Really PISS NeMont off knowing Trump is Spending all that Money & He Ain't Gettin one F'N Red Cent of it!

Fair enough. I don't like the crank whore spending. I really don't believe it will ever stop. Even if we balance the budget like Clinton did, I bet that the following year we won't. Kicking the can down the road will lead to bankruptcy. When will these pukes start cutting back on spending?
Rand Paul is right!

I do support spending on our military but absolutely believe that our social programs are killing us. I think I heard that welfare/Food stamps applicants have gone down 4 million since Trump took over. That's a tremendous start! F@#k illegal immigrants and waving their f'ing south of the border flags. You come to USA you do it like your ancestors. No freebies. Find a sponsor. Speak English! If Not, Go back to go and do not collect 200 bucks. The cartels and their cronies need a bullet in their foreheads for selling and manufacturing horrible drugs.
Is that conservative enough for you Ne?

Fair enough, can you explain why you believe Trump is innocent. Even if the welfare rolls were cut by 4 million that doesn't save diddly squat when we still will borrow another Trillion to finance our government spending. He is the one who put the additional domestic discretionary on the table and his signature is on the bill.

If The tax cuts produce new tax revenue but that revenue is spent before it ever makes it to the treasury how exactly does that benefit the future of this country?

If you believe spending will not stop until we are bankrupt, they why is you believe one party is better than the other? They both suck.

Nemont

PS what happened to the border wall in this budget, it isn't anywhere in there?

I am at a point in life I would give half my earnings every year to pay off the national debt. I love this country. I see the beacon of hope it is. I see that I am fortunate to be here at this time in the grand scheme of life. I could have come 400 years ago in medieval Europe. We are so lucky to be here now. I appreciate what the founding fathers risked. I have hope Trump will do something about the debt. I feel that he knows. With bankruptcies in his past he understands, perhaps better than most, what is at stake. The one thing that will bring this country and the world to it's knees is our spending. We have got to control it. I feel Trump wants to correct the issue. I guess we will have to wait and see. It feels like the Senate and House are stacked against him. Nobody wants a bill unless they can get their constituents some money to take home. We will have a day of reckoning sooner than later if we dont. I am humbled when I think of my pioneer ancestors. In my family we have a history journal of a litle 11 year old Great Great Grandpa that came here on a boat. He jumped on a ship with some Mormon missionaries and came the the USA to escape the poverty his family lived in back in Denmark. He went through Ellis Island, through New York, was pushed out of Missouri in his bare feet by angry mobs, walked across the plains, settled in the salt riddled soils of Utah. Then fought the Blackhawk war and ended up fighting Indians. Had a house on the frontier. Then there is my kids Great Great Pops. Still alive. He was in WWII. Sat in a room in an aircraft carrier in a secret location. He was working with super secret tech...aka radar. He married grandma on a weekend trip from San Diego to Salt Lake. He watched the treaty signed in Japan on a battleship with US warships, likely the largest navy ever assembled on Earth, stretched out in front of his eyes so thick it covered the sea as far as one could see. He lost friends in that one. Then there is My Pops. Ready to retire, stomach full of ulcers, worked hard and late most of his life building his company. I helped him run a gravel pit, run tractors, plant trees, etc. We worked till our blisters on our neck from the sun were popping from the pressure of a collar. Till the blisters on our hands were bleeding down the handles of our shovels. Well into cold winter nights we would work.

Even after all this. I would give half of everything, every year, if I knew they would not borrow any more. If I knew my money would go to help pay down the debt. But, I dont trust them. And, even Trump appears unable to avoid more debt and he appeared to be willing to try. I have heard Obama declare he would balance the budget, Bush declare he would balance the budget, Trump declare he would try to balance the budget. I dont know if it will happen in my lifetime.

If we dont get a handle on this then the day of reckoning when the world realizes we have built a house of cards, will happen within my lifetime.

NeMont recognizes that this is the biggest issue facing us. If we dont take care of the payments we have then it wont matter how many war ships we have, or how new our infrastructure is.

I dont see a way out or a person that can get us there...

I would love for any worthwhile human to just say the obvious, it will take time but we will ALL have to give more and take less. Good luck ever getting a boomer to take less, they would rather enslave their own blood.

NeMont, let me guess. Your daddy is or was a boomer and he beat the living crap out of you every day. Something has to explain your hatred for boomers.

The rest of us boomers are just here, alive, following all the fricken laws. Sorry if that offends your dumb ass.

It was forcibly put there by employees and employers.

Social Security and Medicare shouldn't even be listed under government spending. It's a savings account totally separate from income tax. It never was the governments money.

97172deliverancebanjo.jpg

GW Bush tried to put some of that money to work in the stock market, but the Dems wouldn't allow it. It would be in great shape if that had been allowed.

The trust funds are full of government bonds, backed by the full faith and credit of the United States, they are the same as cash. The bonds are already being redeemed to pay for benefits, who pays for those redemptions?

I get it we can't blame boomers for what happens it's all the next generations of lazy Americans who are the problem with the debt, especially those who aren't born yet. Those greedy little brats don't deserve a chance because we need to finance this debt on their backs, today.

What is conservative about that scenario? If you didn't support Obama's spending and debt then you should be livid at Trump's. If you are honest, if you are just a political hack then just admit your core values are for sale.

Have you ever read what the constitution says about a standing army ?

If we followed the constitution it would not only save money , but we wouldn't keep getting in conflicts all over the world if we didn't have a military we're just dying to find a reason to have.

Military spending should be reduced not increased. it's that simple.

How much is enough? We are spending 3.5 times what China is, nearly 10 times what Russia is. I am all for a strong defense, I am for taking care of our troops. I just don't believe it is moral to borrow it on the backs of our grand children. If we want to spend more for the military then we should be willing to cut somewhere else.

If you don't like government waste, then you should be demanding the Pentagon produce an accounting of the Army's $6.5 Trillion worth of misplaced/lost/forgotten/unaccounted for equipment, spending and other expenses.

Let review what Ike said:

Before and during the Second World War, American industries had successfully converted to defense production as the crisis demanded, but out of the war, what Eisenhower called a permanent armaments industry of vast proportions emerged. This conjunction of an immense military establishment and a large arms industry is new in the American experience Eisenhower warned, [while] "we recognize the imperative need for this development.we must not fail to comprehend its grave implications, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence? The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist."

Eisenhower cautioned that the federal government's collaboration with an alliance of military and industrial leaders, though necessary, was vulnerable to abuse of power. Ike then counseled American citizens to be vigilant in monitoring the military-industrial complex. Only an alert and knowledgeable citizenry can compel the proper meshing of the huge industrial and military machinery of defense with our peaceful methods and goals, so that security and liberty may prosper together.

Ocho and Nemont have made about 100 posts bitching about the budget under Trump in 1 year, and maybe 3 posts in 8 years about the budget under Obama. But they're the true conservatives. LOL!

Priceless.

Eel,

Never figured you for a liar. Do you want to see my posts complaining about the Obama debt? I griped about the Bush debt also. I believe what I believe regardless of which party holds the White House.

If you griped about Obama's debt and stay silent on Trump's then you are just a party hack that Republicans count on to vote for them regardless of what they actually do when in power.
