Does anyone know if you buy a landowner tag in Colorado can you hunt unit wide on public land or are you restricted to hunting private land only ? Thanks in advance !

Depends.
Used to be both options when we used em', 5-10 years ago.

There are definately landowner tags that you can buy that allow you to hunt unit wide including public lands. I was really surprised to hear it, but it is the case. However, there are also some private land only landowner tags, so you have to be sure which kind are offered.

2 kinds of land owner tags in Colo. Unit wide tags can hunt
anywhere in the unit and private land hunt tags that can be used only on their land. The latter one is often cow tags for herd
reduction.
