Taxidermy show

I just wanted to let everyone know about Utah's Taxidermy show. it starts this Saturday March 13th. It is at BYU's bean museum the show lasts about a month. It is a great way to get ideas for your next mount. It also gives you a pretty good idea who is good .It is free to the public. it is a great place to take your family as well. It is worth checking out!!! any questions reply to this post and I will check it from time to time and try to answer any questions.

I like going to the show every year. There are usually some impressive mounts there. I wonder how many Taxidermists produce mounts for thier clients which are as good as the show mounts. I have seen too many taxidermists win 1st place ribbons at the show, then they turn out sub-par work for their customers. Anyway, it is a great place to go see some nice mounts and the cost is perfect - FREE. My kids could spend hours there just looking at the entries.

Last year the show was only 1 day. Is it longer this year??

I'll be there. It is only about 15 minutes from my home. Missed it last year. And you can't beat free. There is always some tremendous mounts.

This year it is almost a month long. It alternates short show, long show. The museum doen't like to tear down every year. So thats why every other year it is only one day.

I understand that there will be taxidermy classes during the show on saterday for those who belong to the Utah taxidermy association. I can't make it to the show on saterday so I'm wondering if they will be doing classes on any other day?

Yes there are classes on Friday as well. It is to keep taxidermist busy during the judging. ha ha. There is a small fee to attend the seminars. I don't know what it is right now I don't have my news letter here with me I will check it out if you would like and let you know.

Hey bowhunter, I was wondering what would be the best way to get there coming from American Fork. I know how to get to byu but where is the show at? Thanks for any help you can give.

The bean life science museum is straight east of the Marriott ctr. Take University Parkway to 450 East, turn right, go to 1430 north It is the first left that you come to you will be going behind the marriott center going east, take the first left again into a small lane and that takes you between the marriott center and the bean museum into the parking lot. the show is up stairs in the museum. I hope that is not confusing. You can also get there from 900 east but I'm not sure how to explain that way. You can find a map in the phone book on page 46 that might be helpful (Qwest). Good luck.
