The two articles I read Utah placed like 18th and even higher. One said Wyoming had the most, the other said Alaska. They were basing it on NICS transfers. That doesnt mean much. I'm pretty sure nobody is gonna answer truthfully when they ask how many guns you have. I know I won't.

Last year Michigan sold 700k hunting licenses.
West Virginia 500k, Alabama 450k, Minnesota 680k, Wisconsin 500k, Maine 400k, Pennsylvania 600k. Now just imagine how many more the rest of the state sell. I am guessing that the total is around 30 plus million sold. Now you factor in that most people that hunt own at least one other weapon. That would be a conservative figure of over 60 million guns owner by US citizens. That number is in reality probably double that number. So we as sportsman are the largest army in the world. Do you think with those kind of numbers that there is ever a chance to ban gun ownership. Never going to happen.

What has not been determined is if assault rifles are constitutionally protected. even Scalia had serious doubts. and do you notice the supreme court won't take a case that would settle this debate ?

So just like the rejection of the gun case yesterday the supreme court have given the green light to states to ban assault rifles if they choose. which will do little good since they're still a dime a dozen a few miles away. but is shows the path to a ban is open.

Once again this comes down to value, how many bodies does it take to change laws ? there is a body count that will serve as political currency we just haven't hit the right price yet. and with every Rambo piece of chit that leaves Walmart the odds of reaching that body count goes up. you will be your own undoing.

Wow, even out here in Mayberry there is pretend security where whomever wants into the school has to be buzzed in. My wife teaches 2nd grade in a rural school and they have active shooter trainings twice a year with the sheriff's office "shooting" up the school. It is scares they shyt out of her every time.

The challenge is that when a student enters the school there are no questions asked and they could bring anything in a back pack. I am not sure how you can stop that without making schools more like prisons.

The high school my kids went to have 51% of the kids on free or reduced lunch. Not sure the $$ amount but a conservative estimate would be $600,000 per year. More than enough to pay for some glass and armed guards.

The biggest problem is, both sides have used this to push their political agenda, not one of our politicians gives a rats ass about saving lives at schools.
