BEWARE MY WRATH, FOR I AM KYLE, BRINGER OF DEATH, DESTROYER OF WORLDS, MAKER OF SANDWICHES

Hey guys sorry about that it was getting late and I had to get home to the little lady! BrianID actually helped me as he is a fried and nieghbor of mine. Anyway's here is the story for you....

It was the fifth day of Idaho's general season and I had just missed a dandy buck the day before. Brian (BrianID) and I decided to go out together for a morning hunt up in a the same spot I missed the buck the day before. (brian found this area!) After another wild ride up the mountain in Brians truck we took a small hike to our glassing spot and sat down for the morning freeze-your-butt-off-glassing session. After and uneventfull half hour I got up and moved a little further around the hill and started glassing again. Soon I picked up deer across the canyon in my spotting scope. Three Bucks!! And two were shooters. (My standards for Idaho's General Season tag is 24" or bettter 4 point minimum) In fact the lead buck was super. The second buck was great also and I thought I could make out some trash but they were a long ways off. Any how, I watched were they bedded and figured they would stay there all day with all the pressure. After meeting up with Brian we decided to go after them that evening.

I had to skipped my night class but who wouldn't with deer like this bedded. That evening we made our plans. I would hike up and around the mountain and come in on top of the draw while brian would work his down the middle of the fingure ridge directly across from the deer. We figured if they got up to feed one of us would have the deer work our way. All went well with the stalks except Brian ended up a little further from the draw than we had anticipated. Well to make a long story short the only thing that came out of that draw that evening was a three point and two point. I worked my way above them but no big bucks came out? What in the hell happened? Did they get up and move in the middle of the day?

Well they must have. Soon it was about to get to dark and light was fadding fast so I started back through the middle of the next draw over. As soon as I hit the bottom of the draw all hell broke lose! I heard a big bodied deer bouncing out of the thicket. I had to back peddle to see over the aspen thicket onto the other side of the draw. All of a sudden this buck hits open hill side and it takes one glance to tell he good enough to shoot. I was in such a rush from back peddling that I rushed the first triger pull and shot a little far back. I totally missed the second shot. The third shot wacked him in the spin and he dropped out of my scope. I got so excited that I got on the radio with brian and started talking without marking the spot were he dropped. Know, he was only 80-100 away when he was moving up hill and I shot him. But by the time I settled down and made it though the nasty aspen thicket I had lost him and it was now dark. I was sick to my stomach. We looked for and hour that night and I decided I would come back in the morning. (COuldn't sleep all night!) The next morning found me and another buddy up on the hillside at first light. Not five minutes into looking I found hill dead right where I spined him. I know this story is a little long winded so I will cut to the chase. He has a 24" main frame and three stickers on one side and one sticker on the other that make him 27" outside. Brian and I gross scored him at around 182", not that it matters. I have been waiting to shoot a buck with trash for a long time. It seems all I ever shoot are slick fours. I am thrilled with him. I will try posting some other bucks I have shot in the past in the next few days. Thanks Brian!

Nice buck! I cant wait for fall, two mule deer tags in hand, MT and ID, plus if the draw works out I'll have an MT whitey tag too! Cmon baby!

Great looking buck. Was he one of the 3 bucks you had originally put to bed in the ravine (the one you thought might have some trash)? I bet having to leave him over night drove you nuts. Were you still able to save the meat the next morning?

Thanks for sharing the picture.
