Wow! Wasn't expectin to draw, but I am pumped. I plan on doing a ton of scouting and wondering if anyone has any pointers on where to start. I would also love to take a 330 bull and wondering if anyone has any info on the size of bulls that have come off the La Sals the last couple of years. Thanks for the help.

I have been down there the last 2 years on Elk hunts. And I'll be going down again this year with a friend on his muzzy hunt... Alot of the country on the East Side is Private CWMU's (Redds Ranch, JB Ranch) But there is still some Public ground that you can access. I've Seen some decent bulls. Watch out for bear's, they are everywhere..

PM me if you want more info...

>sent you a pm

I hunted the LaSal unit back in 2005, I had a great hunt. My hunt was during the rifle season and we saw quite a few bulls. I killed a bull that scored close to 320 on the Monday following the opening. I saw bigger bulls and could have actually killed a bigger bull more than once during the three days I hunted. I planned on being there the whole season to harvest a bigger bull but got caught up in the excitment of the hunt.I saw one bull that was a 6x6 that would have scored upwards of 380, but it was the Thursday before the hunt opened and did not locate him before I pulled the trigger on the one I got. It will be a great hunt, something to be very excited about. One word of caution, be sure of where you are when your hunting, make sure you don't stray onto the CWMU's on the east side. They don't take kindly to trespassers.
The fish cop on the mountain told me if you wound an animal and it goes onto these private units your chances of recovering your animal are not very good. Good luck and have a great hunt!!
