LAST EDITED ON May-01-07 AT 07:56PM (MST)[p]Got my elk mount back, and he's up on the wall. I took this elk on a DIY archery elk hunt on public land here in AZ in 05'. Let me know what you all think of the mount.

Good looking bull! Don't want to pick at it but it sure looks like the horns are tipped way to far forward. Maybe the taxi had to on that form so it wouldn't hit the wall. Looks like there was plenty of room though. Could be just me too.

"crop out the naked kid"......that's too funny! LOL!

Great bull RMO. Got any field photos of that beast? Would love to see a couple different angles on him.

rmo,

very nice bull! congrats!

i am going to do a little criticing. i think the bull looks great. the only thing i personally do not care for is the glossy spray on the horns? just a personal opinion though. some like it.

btw, the floral ottoman has to go dude!

I really like the mount, I think the taxi did a great job. The horns are a bit forward, but not too much, they are about an inch from the wall, so there was no room for him to put them I guess. The gloss I could do without, but that's what he put on it. The gloss on the horns was the first thing I noticed when I picked it up, not a big fan, but what can you do.

I scored the elk at 363 gross. I would like to have him officially scored and entered into P&Y one of these days.

what can you do?

sit back and enjoy a great record book critter that really does look good!

the gloss is just a personal choice thing. i also think your taxi did well. make sure you enter him in the book after you get him scored. the certificate would look great hanging next to him.

That last pic relly shows how great your elk is. I really
like the gloss and pose. And to take it with a bow is a
great accomplishment.

Nice bull Rocky. It's so big it fills up the whole wall. What a great memory to have on the wall for years to come.....years & years to come. ;)

i prefer the gloss that way it helps preserves the horns.

what type of gloss did he use? hopefully krylon. i think fish gloss will yellow over time.

Thanks for the positive comments. I'm not sure what kind of gloss he used, hopefully the best kind. Everybody who comes over to the house loves the mount. It looks dang good, I hope to get another one just like him this year!
