My father and I already applied for this unit so the damage is done if we are lucky enough to draw. I was just wondering how much the Spike hunts that are before and during the Bull hunt would effect the Bull hunt? My father and I applied for the Bull hunt and my ol man did not want to apply for this unit because of the Spike hunts. I was just wondering what you fellas thought?

I was a little insistent on applying for this unit, I hope I'm not wrong......

You will find that the bigger bulls will be in the deep holes. The calf survival was poor again, lots of bears and cats. How many preferance points did you have?

Over all one of oregons better bull hunts IMO. They actually made the second season spike hunters draw so last year there were less spike hunters than the year before. I feel that if you put your time in before and during the season you should have multiple chances at 320-350 bulls and maybe a chance at something bigger. I have some pictures of a bull a friend of mine shot last year on opening day and I will try to post them tommorrow

We have 9pts so I think we have a pretty good chance, but we are not counting on drawing a tag either. We did alot of research and it seemed everyone and everything was pointing to this unit. Neither my father nor I have ever taken an Elk, so hopefully we will have the oppertunity this year.
