Leica Rangefinders Best?

Who has or knows someone who has a Leica rangefinder? Are they better than the bushnells? Who makes the best rangefinder? Thanks for any info.

I have a Lieca... The laser is much more accurate and optics are noticably better. The Lieca will acctually read to the distance that they claim unlike the Bushnell that will sometimes work and sometims won't more often than not when you get to half the range they claim. Granted none of them will reliably read to what they claim every time, but the Lieca will more often than not. Besides I wouldn't take a Bushnell gold toilet if they gave it to me! :)

Go with the Lieca you won't be disapointed. Besides they only cost a little more...

No offense but it sounds like Bamb has something against Bushnell. I'm gonna have to disagree with him. My hunting partner has the Leica900 and I use the Bushnell Yardage Pro Legend. I think optics are at least equal, but Bushnell is smaller, lighter, and very easy to read yardages. Leica uses little red numbers that are difficult to read sometimes. As for accuracy on the yardage it reads out, I don't think I've ever had a problem with my Bushnell. Now, maybe if your 600 yards away but if thats the case you shouldn't be shooting anyway. Get anywhere within shooting distance and I believe it to be very accurate.

So I guess in MY opinion you should go with the Bushnell.

Well
Everyone has an opinion. I had a Bushnel and gave it away and bought the Leica. I am a Leica guy though so I am a bit biased in my comments.
What I found was that it was to dificult to stedy the Bushnell on a target. Leica is much easier in this respect.
Leica glass is way superior to Bushnell if you care about that sort of thing. I find the read out in the Leica is more than adequate.
Buy the Leica and you will not regret it.
Thats my opinion.

I have the bushnell 800 and it is not very reliable out past 300 yards especially in low light situations. I have used Leica and it is worth the money. I know Swarovski is out with a new one as well. I am saving up for a new Leica/Swarovski range finder....... Allen Taylor......

BUY THE LEICA!! In low light conditions you cannot read the bushnells black numbers. Were as the Leica's red numbers stand out great in low light. Spend the extra dough and do it right!

I'm a Leica finatic but unfortunately I couldn't see the distance numbers...I'm red-orange color blind and had to send them back!

I am also having this dilemma. If you compare the two inside of the store (where light is a little low), the difference in glass is very obvious as the Leica is very much superior. But it's a rangefinder, not my binoculars...... However the distance reading accuracy of the two outside of the store was too close to call. I think I will go with Leica, but I sure wish that Leica would build their casing like the Bushnell as the Bushnell fits so awesome in your hand.

From the spec sheets that I have read, the beam dispersion of the Leicas are about half of the Busnells, and hence are easier to get reading off a smaller target at longer distances. I have had yardage pros 400 and 800 and then got the Leica 1200. The view throught the eyepiece is noticeably sharper with the Leicas.

I have a bushnell scout and for muzzleloader deer hunting it is fine, but when I took it to Wyoming for rifle antelope it just wasn't doing the job for me. If anybody wants a bushnell scout that is practically new I am selling one for $140.
