usually tags left over after the draw, but you gotta get 'em Quick after the draw cause they go fast...

Did get a call from Ore F&G Fri. Message anyways. No NR tags for Wenaha this year. Wanted to know if I wanted to apply for another unit or PP. Messages for both me and my son. That choice was my PP choice with no chance in he!! to draw. Should I even call back?

hmmm. I would assume no NR means they dropped the total tags back down to 10.
Just go the PP route if you don't want the tag, which you can't get without max points anyway.

255Y1 and 254Y1 are both great hunts. unless you've got a ton of points all you're likely to get is another point anyway. Oregon really screws the NR hunter, if I didn't live here I probably wouldn't apply.

I wonder if they cut back the amount of NR tags on any other Elk units in Or. I'm sorry to hear this happened to you and your son Califelkslayer.

No the Tag numbers remained the same the Guide and Outfitter Allottment tags for those units were issued this year so there is no NR Tags in any of the Premier Deer or Elk hunts. IE Deer Hart Mtn, Juniper. Elk Wenaha, Walla Walla, Mt. Emily may have one so that is why there are no NR Tags there.

Drawing a Wenaha tag for a resident is nearly impossible. Dont feel bad if you are a NR. I figure that if is going to take at the very min. 12 years for a resident then I will be to old for the hunt. Try an easier unit or another state.
