After reading the Nevada regs, I am unclear about how to get a buck bonus point..Do I have to pay the 100 or so bucks to buy a license in order to get a bonus point? Can I just apply for a bonus point, is there a code for that? If I have to buy a license, does that allow me to get bonus points for elk, sheep???Any help would be appreciated, Thanks.

Yes you have to buy the license to get bonus points, you do not have to buy the license to apply, but will buy one if you draw. I do not think that you can just apply for a point, unless they changed it this year, but there are many non resident hunts (and res. hunts) one could apply for and have less than 1% chance of actually drawing. Worst case scenario you'd got a great tag. Yes, buying a license will allow you to accumulate points for deer, antelope, elk, D. sheep, C. sheep, and goat.

Hey guys,
Next year you will be able to apply for just a bonus point with no chance of drawing. It's been approved, just not implemented this year.

LAST EDITED ON Mar-26-04 AT 07:24AM (MST)[p]The one thing I don't like about Nevada is the $140 it takes to buy a license to keep your points--with the point only option next year, I bet the prices are jacked up a good $20+ for non-residents.

I hope that tag's worth it when I draw it~! Then again, I just want to hunt Nevada.

If it takes 8-10 years on average to draw a decent rifle tag, I can buy a landowner tag in CO or OR for about the same price and go now.
