Anyone down in the Book Cliffs this past weekend? My dad went down there to check the Roadless country out and he said all he saw was huntin' dogs, bears and more bears! Crazy! I would bet not too many hunters ate tag-soup from the sounds of it! :)Guess we better tie up ole' blue in camp for our Elk hunt down there this fall. Anyone ever have problems with an ole' blackie in camp down there before?

No camping problems, I drew the bear tag a few years back and can attest to the number of bears and dogs chasing them.. I was trying to call one in and spot and stalk... all the bears I saw were running from the dogs. got one anyway...

A few years back in July we rode into the cabins. A big group was staying at the cabin and when we got there a bear was munching in the their coolers. We camped up the little box canyon and had a different bear come into our camp. Makes it fun when your sleeping out under the stars.

We had a bear mess up our camp a bit on a moose/bear hunt in British Columbia a few years ago. For some reason it chewed up the water jugs - they weren't much good for holding water with all of the holes in them.

There was also a grizzly in the area that would climb up on the logging equipment every night and do his business on the hood or the fender - it was kind of funny. I guess it was his way of showing his displeasure that they were logging in his forest.

Hunted the books a few years back saw and filmed some awesome bears. seems like every water source i looked at had been staked by a big bruin.

Don't know much about the Book Cliffs, but this last Memorial Day weekend I seen four different bears on the Lasals. I was down there Turkey hunting and seen all of them on Saturday. One was a little to close for comfort when all your carrying is a shotgun with two shells in it. I was walking thru some P&J and Ponderosa and walked right up on him. He is a big bear especially at approx. 35 to 40 feet away. He wasn't about to give up any ground either. As I back away he walked towards me.It got a little tense there for about thirty seconds or so. It was an experience of a life time, but I'm not to excited to repeat it any time soon.
