Valle Caldera

Any idea when these credit card hits may happen? Will it be at the same time as the regular draw if a guy is so lucky.

I got to hunt the Valles a couple years back. They way they did it then was around the same time as the draw, they called me and I didn't pay for the tag until I got to NM for the hunt. Not sure if it's the same now or not.

Tons of bulls and a great hunt. I didn't kill a bull because a drew AZ Unit 9 the same year and only hunted the Valles a couple days before AZ opened, but it was an amazing experience.

I got the late rifle bull tag last year.

The way i found out was when talking to a G & F employee about applications and she had said there is a Valle Caldera tag with your name on it.

Valle Caldera is the Jurrasic park of elk. Passed on 6 different 300 type bulls. Got a glimpse of a 350 bull and took a small 6x7 on the last day i could hunt.

Had to call the hunt short because one of my managers had a nervous breakdown and i was spending all my time on my cell phone. That reall messed up my hunt.

I thought that they drew before the general draw in New Mexico. It would be sweet to get this tag, although I'm pretty sure it ain't going to happen.
