Well, lucky I feel this morning. I have three charges on my debit card which should mean we went 3 for 3 on NM elk tags!!!! Now the question is what units??? Arghhh I can't get on their website. I am going crazy.

Congrats to those lucky enough to draw. The moisture in this state is awesome and this will prove to be a great year for a tag. I have one great bull on trail cam that I hope to be chasing soon!

I have three charges from NMG&F. I just confirmed with my bank. My wife and dad are applied together and I am seperate so I can go archery. Looks like we all hit the jackpot!!

WELLL I WAS LUCKY ENOUGH TO GET LOGGED IN AND FOUND OUT THAT I GOT DRAWN FOR A ELK TAG IN 15. ANTELOPE WAS A NO GO AND MY DEER DRAW SAID IT NEED MORE INFO??????? SO I HAVE TO SEE WHAT THAT IS ABOUT BUT I AM PUMPED TO DRAW MY BULL TAG IN 15. GOOD LUCK TO THE REST OF YOU.
 
Is there a phone number one can call to get the results. Been tryin on the computer for a while now.

Just got through on the website. We drew Elk cow tags in unit 2 for the Dec 1-5 hunt. Never hunted there before but people tell me it is pretty good. Anyone got information?

HELP PLEASE!!

I drew my third choice ELK-2-151 and I don't even remember what unit that is?? I usually don't pay attention to my third choices, my bad!! I don't have my proc and the NM site is down. Can anyone help me out with the unit and hunt dates?
 
Drew two third choice hunts:

Archery deer unit 38
Muzzleloader elk unit 9

Call me the King of third choice hunts , a couple years running I draw deer and elk 3rd choice. Next year I'll enter with the reverse mode eh, but will think about next year after I hunt this fall.....WWHHHHH WWWHHHHOOOOOOO!

Well it has taken me all day to get through on the website to learn I did not get drawn for elk but did get my Jan archery 2b tag. It has been awhile since I have drawn this tag. Should be a fun hunt. Any other MM members get this tag??
 
now they have a picture of Jeremiah Johnson on there saying it is a 2007 draw result portal and I still cant get on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

...caelk, you took my 2b tag, that was my first choice for deer but i can live with unit 34 deer bow sept 1-20 and jan 1-15...also drew elk bow sept 16-24 and javalina feb 1-15 so i am a happy camper...

Also drew an Ibex tag but I dont know which one, talk about a good year. I am so excited, cant wait for Nov.
 
I've gotten to the find hunter results page 5 times and still can't get my results. What am I doing wrong????????????????????
 
drew muley 44/45 archery, no elk tag again this year. my dad and bro. both got valle videl elk + 44/45 muley smoke pole.
 
My son drew a youth tag (either sex) Unit 17 smokepole!!!!!!!!!!!!


Guess I will have to go shopping for a good muzzleloader.

Finally got thru the website! No elk but unit 23 muzzy for deer - first time going to NM so I'm excited!!!
 
Well, my wife spent most of the day trying to get into the NM website. She finally succeeded. Good wife. She did this on my behalf while I was out walleye fishing to prepare for the walleye tournament this weekend (in her new boat).

I have another antelope tag, New Mexico, to go with my NV and UT tags (and probably MT tag). I applied as a party with my son, so he has NM also, which goes just fine with his NV and MT antelope.

Only thing left is our Red Desert antelope apps for WY. I would love that, but that would be greedy. Hell with it, I will be greedy and wish for that also.

But the big news is his elk draw. For those of you with kids, NM has some early rifle and muzzy either sex elk hunts on their best units.

Lucky boy drew one of the few 16C early rifle elk tags in the Gila National Forest. The hunt is 10/6-10/10. Should still be some rutting activity at that time.

Have I ever told you guys how lucky this kid is? Must come from the misfortune of having me as his father.

Got the late season rifle unit 17 deer tag. First time to NM to hunt - I'm just happy to be able to have a gun in my hand. Don't know too much about 17 - who cares.......... can't be too bad.
 
Its been a few years since I drew an elk tag, but I drew OCT 20-24 16C tag. It will be a good hunt. NMHS
 
already asked this but I'll ask again.....all who have drawn, does your cc show the charges as well? Am I hoping for the impossible? Still can't get into the site.
 
NO!!! You still are in the game. I drew Elk but my card does not show a charge yet. One in my party has a charge of only $51, go figure. I thought that perhaps there was something wrong with my card but the NM draw results will tell you if there is a problem with your card, which there was not. I'm figure that there will continue to be hits, but for how long I cannot say. Good Luck! -S.
 
Damn I'm almost in shock. Till today it had been a rough year in the draw, applied in almost every western state with nothing to show for it, and my home state of NM saved the day!

After 12 hrs of internet torture I found out I drew:

1) Valles Caldera 1st archery elk hunt!

That alone would have salvaged the year, but also got;

2) 2B late rifle deer with my 2 brothers (beat the non-resident odds, I didn't think we had a chance in Hell!)

3) Rifle Antelope, SE corner of state.

Well I was overdue for some luck, but it showed up in a bundle this time.

my god man I am 2 for 3 in new mexico. my son and I both drew the general MULE DEER hunt der-1-160, I did NOT draw the M.I. antelope buck hunt I was shooting for, however I DID draw my first choice elk tag in nm. never hunted elk in any state but az. now I get MY chance dammitt !!!!! I pulled 1 out of my a@@ no doubt about that. I drew the M.I. BULL ELK MUZZLELOADER hunt ELK-3-171. the thing is I don't have my regulations, and I can't get to the homepage to see where it was again. I think our deer hunt is the normal one we apply for in unit 24, but this elk hunt I forgot which unit I applied for. I know both were 1st choice hunts but.

2 general tags for rifle buck MULE DEER, DER-1-160
1 M.I. tag for muzzleloader bull ELK, ELK-3-171
0 M.I. tag for rifle antelope.

I can surely live with 66% drawing odds, knowing me and my son both got our buck deer hunt together is the best hunt. I am so happy for him as he has NOT drawn any tags for 2 full years now in ANY state. he goes with me and enjoys it alot but I can tell he wanted to hunt also- now he/we can ! now maybe I can find us a couple cheap landowners vouchers for antelope for new mexico, and since we are entering the az deer draw tomorrow now I will know which dates to avoid because of these nm hunts we drew. c'mon az !
does anyone have thier regs handy ?? can you tell me the specifics on my elk tag ? its elk-3-171, and der-1-160. thanks and congrats to all ! condolences to those who did not.

Finaly got on the site 6:41 am CT. Drew DER 103 1st choice goose eggs on rest, but at least I'm hunting NM.

Two years in a row first hunt unit 6C elk and deer. No elk last year but managed to get a buck.
 
I have sent for 2b archery as a non res for 11(It used to be great odds on drawing 2b for a few years and then it blew up) years stright and no freaking tags. I have sent for 10 years for elk(15,16s,34archery and rifle) and not one freaking tag. I take that back i had a tag about 8 years ago for a unit that was a unlimited unit that i got on a third choice. Man am lucky. I hate PP but in that state i think i could use them. They call me lucky sob around were i live i think not. NM where is the love.
 
congratz, seems like lots of folks on here drew unit 2 deer tags (sorry aaron), those sould be great hunts, also congratz to the few who drew valles caldera tags! the VC hunt will be second to none this year. as for me, i drew 3rd choice elk for archery in unit 6c and i cant wait for september! we had very good success last year in that unit during the rifle hunts. 5th year in a row i haven't been able to draw a single deer tag though..
 
I drew a bow antelope tag and Unit 34 Bow deer. I don't bother hunting deer in September as it's more fun in January.
 
16A 3rd bow!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cant wait first year that I drew out and am going to hunt!!!! Best thing was no clients the same week!

Thank you New Mexico! My son drew a youth Unit 17 either sex elk muzzleloader tag and a youth 2B rifle deer tag. I was drawn for a unit 2C Jan. archery deer tag. Good luck to all those lucky enough to get tags as well!

No V.V. or V.C. tag. Drew 16E MZ last year so can't complain to much. Looks like SW Colorado Archery. Congrads to those who drew.

I drew ELK-2-258 and as posted above by someone don't have my proclamations and am at work for a 16 hour shift. That and I can't check the internet. I'm a bit embarrassed to say that I applied for so many things I don't know what I got at this point. Anyone have a set in front of them for what I got, season and weapon choice.??????????
 
Boneaddict. You are one lucky dog and you don't even know how lucky you are. 16D third hunt. It is short but probably in the best unit in the state at the best time of the year. Congrats though I'm not sure that someone who doesn't remember that hunt deserves it. :)
 
You are probably right Wailing...and thank you for helping me. I knew I was in 16 for something, but I wasn't sure for what. Like I said I had so many different apps in everywhere, that some I chose the best of the best and assumed I wouldn't draw, but didn't want to risk not having my name in the hat. I was mostly interested in deer, but figured I might as well try. Hopefully I can make the best of it and have some good pics for everyone.
 
I guie 99% of the time for deer in 2 a b c but elk hunt that area some... Cant be of much help but I will log your email and send you info if I see any good deer when I am elk hunting the area!
 
If anyone is feeling generous and wants to give me somme help on hunting elk in New Mexico, I would appreciate it. I'm not looking for specific drainages or stuff like that. I hate asking folks for that. I am more looking at what to expect hunting in the desert there. Way different from what I am used to here in Washington. Also wondering what to expect in numbers and if anyone has hunted 16 before what to expect for trophy size. The third hunt is the best date, but what do you think the previous two seasons will do to t he elk and their actions. 5 days seems really short to get keyed in on animals if there is any gliche in the weather. September in my neck of the woods could mean snow, but have no idea what to expect in the Gila.

me: not a damm thing

atleast i'll get to be the guide this year i'm way excited to take my mom to the valle i was there two years ago and had a blast i just wanna get her a bigger bull then i got there well thats my goal anyway it'll be tough to do but it can be done good luck to all this hunting season
 
My 12 year old got one of the youth elk tags! Unit 34, either sex, 9/29-10/3. In AZ this would be like hitting the lottery!!

This morning he told me that he actually had a dream about elk last night! :7 :7

Ant-1-160, this is my second year in a row of drawing this same hunt. Hope it is good as last year. No luck for elk and deer. But I haven't had any luck since 1999 and that was elk. Since then nothing in the elk world. Good luck to everyone else.

It is going to be awesome to hunt these fine species, I am going to try my best to take these with a bow. For elk and deer I have drawn a tag for archery for 24 years running in different units all over the state. Still waiting for my oil rocky and desert sheep and my oil Ibex tag

Hey addict, 16D isnt too much desert. Its in the forest. From my experiences, its pretty rough. Big mountains and lots of timber. A very good tag though, especially with the rain we've been getting. Should have a great hunt.

As for me, I drew unit 17 sept bow for deer and jav-1-100

Notta on deer or antelope, but thankfully a few ranchers are nice enough to let me chase deer in September and January in Unit 38.
