I said he was an idiot for signing the Omnibus bill, but I like what he's trying to get done on immigration. When did I say I'm not outraged? The point is Obama is no longer in office and Hillary isn't either. They are non-starters today. If all the evidence is there about corruption in DOJ and FBI why hasn't Trump done something about it. He talked a big story but hasn't ordered Sessions to do a damn thing. Maybe because he's being the bigger man. Or maybe because the proof is only in peoples minds. As for Congress's inability to act I am appalled. They are acting like children. That's what happens when all we have are people on one extreme end or the other and a lack of common sense moderate views. Nothing at all gets done. Just because I don't give equal time to everyone in Congress does not mean I am not equally critical. I will try harder. But when I have tried to steer the conversation towards public lands and things that are really important to hunters nobody will even be honest about it. They are too busy supporting Trump to look at the consequences.

Well I'm not willing to give up much because I know that little Kim would never have the balls to launch a nuclear missile against us but it doesn't really matter what I'm willing to give up, I'm not in power to negotiate any kind of agreement. My whole point is that why don't we wait and see what we do give up before we start declaring it an abject failure.

You're already bent out of shape because Trump said they acted honorably. Now you're saying "but Trump said America first so why do we care what South Korea does?" I'm pretty sure that what America first means is that we aren't going to make any deals that benefit another country over us. It doesn't mean we don't give two shyts what other countries do.

We should impose sanctions on South Korea for the way they treated him in your world view. I know who cares what South Korea does right? Retarded! This is all obviously over your head because you don't seem to understand that we are working with our allies in the region to negotiate a deal.

Different time nemont, different circumstances. The answers to those questions is why there was an uproar over meeting with him in 09 with no preconditions. No Nemont that is a BS argument. You can post up Obama saying he would meet with Kim all you want but you can't post where Kim went to SK and and seems to be looking for peace on the Korean peninsula during the Obama years. The difference is that good things are happening SO FAR yet Trump is still getting bashed. At this point if nothing happens from here on out, it's still farther than previous administrations got with NK.
 
Ok Calif, I will grant you that good things could come of this. And yes it is happening under the Trump administration. Good on him. I don't believe this is happening solely because of Trumps personal expertise at diplomacy. There are other factors at work too. Like the fact that NK has an extremely small and fragile economy. Add to that, his people are starving. He has over 25 million people he needs to feed. Trump himself said they are starving when he called Kim a madman. They cannot grow enough food to feed themselves and no one with food will trade with him because he has little to exchange.

So all this helps put Trump in the driver's seat this time. As the saying goes the success of a rain dance depends a lot on timing. If it works out, great! Give Trump a Nobel prize. But it's going to cost us a lot of money if it works.

For example in 2012 (yes I googled it) Kim agreed to stop some of his nuclear testing in exchange for 240,000 metric tons of US food aid. Kim broke that agreement within months and the deal fell through. Who was President then? So close!
 
Just maybe Kim broke that agreement in 2012 because he knew that we had a weak President that would draw lines in the sand and then back peddle when he was challenged.
Kim may think that Trump will not back peddle and go to the next option to curtail his nuke development.

If Trump makes headway with Kim, there may be many many millions of dollars that the U.S. will save in the next 10 years. I will let you EXPERTS ponder that and figure it out if you can.

NVB, it's great that you can finally admit that maybe this is a good thing that Trump has been a part of. I believe that the sanctions this time are crippling little Kim to the point that he has no choice. Not only are we imposing sanctions but we are outing those that may try to evade the sanctions. We also have China helping more and I don't believe that is just because they want to. China is doing more I believe because of Trump.

We didn't just go from "rocket man" launching missiles and testing bombs every other week to him crossing the border into SK for no reason at all.
