The colorado DOW claims we have between 3000 to 7000 lions with the actual numbers being about 4500 to 5500.Is it true that a lion kills a deer every 10 to 14 days? If so,then if there are 4000 lions x 26 kills per year each, that equals 104,000 deer plus what we hunters kill, plus what the highways kill, plus what the poachers and all other predators kill. It seems that our lion population should be culled down to about 2000 or less. What do you all think? My figures are on the real low end also.....jeff.

Lions are a problem & they always be. But the greatest problem is yotes! That is where GnF departments need to focus. yotes yotes, yotes don't work about the lions

Here in AZ many people claim lions kill around 1 deer a week. Yotes are also a major issue. In addition to this, there is a new study out showing how predators are even tougher on deer in drought situations. We need to control the total predator population if we are going to get a handle on deer. Yotes are also deadly on Antelope and I still agree with arial hunting of coyotes...........Allen Taylor......
