just got my '03 buck back from the taxidermist late last week, so i hung it up and thought i'd take a pic of the pair. the pic didn't scan too well but you can see 'em okay.

http://www.hunt101.com/img/149250.jpg[img]

the one on the left is my '03 buck, and the one on the right is my '01 buck. believe it or not, but i shot a whitey buck in '02...you probably already noticed that he didn't make it to the wall, that's because the wall is reserved for my favorite species ;-)

if anyone has any pics of their mounts they want to share, post 'em here!

nice mounts!!

here are few of my!

cross muledeer/coues..i shot the buck, the buck was with 7 coues doe!

killed with bow, late rut, 28" wide 5x5

i have several more..

enjoy!

I will throw this one out since it was taken in the same unit you shot yours berto. BTW berto, are you applying for the same unit in '04, or something else. I probably will, but won't be disappointed if I strike out. I am thinking the hi-country might be a great opportunity.

I got this guy in New Mexico in 2001 - it was the last hour of the last day of the season. We spotted this buck with a group of 8 does - hadn't seen anything better than a small 4x3 all hunt - lots of forkhorns. As we were hightailing it to the buck we jumped a 25" forkhorn and then a 20" 4x4 (at maybe 30 yards over a ridge). When we got to where we had seen the buck - we had to scale down two small ridges with 12 to 14 feet drops, handing each other our rifles, climbing down and then moving fast - the buck was gone and the does were grazing in a meadow - maybe 300 yards away.

We then heard a crash and looked to our left up the mountain and there were two bucks locked antlers going at it - maybe 250 - 300 yards away. We dropped down in a drainage ang got across the hill from them at maybe 150 yards. The area was destroyed where they were pushing each other around and all the rocks were upturned and no grass anywhere in a 50 - 75 yard area. As they were circling locked antlers, I was going to shoot the buck on the right and my father was going to shot the buck on the left when they came broadside - we counted 3 - 2 - 1 - BOOM! I dropped mine at the shot and Dad missed his. They were still connected when mine dropped and Dad shot again and his dropped. When he dropped, they came disconnected and mine got up and started running downhill - I shot him again and he dropped about 30 yards from where we first shot. Then Dad's buck got up and started going over the hill - he shot two more times before the buck dropped. All three shots on his were through the lungs and both of mine were lung shots. After both were lying there, we looked down hill and there was a big 3x3 (baseframe) with kickers everywhere coming up the hill (guessing 27" - 28" wide). It was a heck of an experience to see all of this.

My buck is 27" wide, grosses 176 and nets 173. Dad's was a compact massive 4x4 - 22" wide and carried the mass through the end of the points and grossed 161 and nets 155. My buck had broken off 6 points - I found 5 of them and the taxidermist matched the last one off of the others. My buck field dressed in the 180# range and dad's was right at 200# - my buck we guessed was probably 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 years old and his (teeth were worn down) was 7 1/2 or possibly older.

Here are two Bow bucks taken in Central Utah. The one on the right scores 174 4/8 and nets 171 6/8, and the other has never been scored but I would guess it would be a 150 class. I am still waiting to get the one on the right finished.

Tell me what you think. This is my first picture post so I hope it works.

I like the added rocks and weeds on the buck to the left. Makes it a little more unique.

Got my mounts back. My 2003 Mule Deer & my Jan. 2004 Whitetail. My whitetail isn't the biggest but he is my very first so I am real proud of him just the same!

231,

i'd say your mount has enough bone growth on it's head that it doesn't need to eat anymore...nice buck!

Berto Congrats on two very nice trophies.

MtMiller nice deer those are some awesome hook cheaters.

231 - That is a monster! Don't you just love the trash? I wish that I could at least see one with that much trash.

Check out the topic Washington bone. I posted a bunch of heads on there. I didn't feel like double posting. I thought it would be just as easy for everyone to look at.

I put this mount on a previous post, but here it is again. It's a customers I mounted a few weeks ago. The photo is a little distorted, making one antler look a lot larger than the other.
