CO Leftover Cow Tags GMU 67

I have never hunted Colorado, but my hunting partner and I put in for points to try and draw GMU 67 Archery tags for next fall.

We have since found that we were denied on all other deer tags that we have applied for in other states this year.

I am wondering, does 67 ever have leftover cow tags (archery would be preferred if they are season specific?) I have not been able to locate a list of units that had leftover tags in seasons past. I am also aware that many of the GMUs have had a reduction in the # of cow tags available as well. Forgive me if this is an ignorant question, as I mentioned - first year trying to hunt Colorado.

I know that OTC is also an option but given the choice, I would rather buy the cow tag and spend time learning/exploring the unit we intend to hunt next year.

Any help would be appreciated!

The leftover list comes July 9th i believe. Check out the website (http://wildlife.state.co.us/Hunting/).

I am hunting Bull their first season this year. I have been up scouting once and going back next weekend. You should have no problem filling a cow tag. Send me a pm if you get a tag and we can share some notes.

I believe that archery tags for almost all units in Co. eeven drawing only are either sex. I think 67 is a drawing only elk unit and even though it may not require a lot of points to draw a license, it is possible, but not likely to have leftover tags after the 1st drawing. Call CDOW to find out.

Archery tags being either sex - does anyone know if there are ever muzzleloader, or rifle leftover cow tags? If we cannot go archery I would still like to spend a week out there hunting/scouting and try to take a cow.

Does this unit ever (or has it generally ever had in the past?) have leftover firearms cow tags for any season?

I don't know if you are interested or not in a 2nd season rifle tag but carters has 2 landowner vouchers for that unit (2nd season rifle bull) listed on their website. I think you have to be a member and they will give you the contact info. Hope that helps? mike
