Debeque, CO

Will be hunting there for the first time this fall. Does anyone have any experience in this unit. I am not expecting a trophy, but has there been any monsters taken out of there in recent years. Thanks

It's been a long time since I hunted Colorado, but I do remember some real beauties coming from Debeque!

We hunted there last year for the first time and had a good time. Saw lots of deer and were successful. Lots of private land and locked in blm so do you have a spot picked out. Have you been there before to see the country? I was a little suprised at first never had hunted country like it before but it grows on you. We got two four pnts, 26 and 27 inch and a 6x6 25 inch nothing huge but we were happy. Good luck hope we can draw and go again. nwhunter

Thomas, I love that girl! I have never been to Debeque, but I'll be hunting with a buddy from there with access to private and landlocked BLM. They grew up hunting there and have taken some very nice bucks in the past, but have not hunted there in two years. They said taking an animal is not a problem, but the toads are tough to come by(as always). Those are three real nice bucks there. Thanks for the reply.

Hope you got the late season tags. The private land that I know of is down on the P/J mesas with sparse sagebrush openings. The deer get in there pretty thick as the seasons move on. I've hunted northeast of Horsethief and it's steep and rugged. Hope you get some snow up high, Steve
