Anyone ever hunted NW Nebraska for either mulies or whitetails?? My brother-in-law wants me to come back their this Nov. to hunt for deer.. I see there is some public land around and I think we'll give that a shot.

I've seen other posts that say the hunting is good. I feel like the hunting is decent, but the trophy quality is low. The public lands get hit hard. And with a rifle season in November and muzzleloader all through December, the bucks just do not get old and big. I've guided and hunted there for a decade and have only seen and taken one big muley buck. There are some solid whitetails, but they are on private lands and access can be difficult unless you have connections. Most of the bucks you'll see will be yearling and two year olds. If you see a 20"+ 4 point, you'd better start after him.

Thanks for the info.. I figured so, but I'll still go for the heck of it. I tried to find info on places that offer hunting with a tresspass fee, but couldn't find anything. I think I'll hunt the public land thats available and see what happens..

Good luck, Jeremiah. You'll have fun and it is a reasonable deal. I still go back lots of years and I've never shot a deer in Nebraska. It is really fun in the muzzleloader season because you don't hardly see another hunter.

Good hunting.
