Ely, NV area elk scouting??

I'm working here in Ely for the next 4 days, brought my binocs, spotting scope, and camera. I'd love to cover some ground and see some animals....any suggestions for some nearby area evening drive+look opportunities??

kh, drive south on highway 93 about 7 miles and take a left towards cave lake and take success loop, you might see some animals at the top. Keep going over the top in will take you into duck creek basin there are alot of roads you can take off the main road a glass and the main road takes you back out to highway 93 north of ely about 25 miles.

Follow the road around and out behind cave lake ,there is a left turn that will take you up a maze of switch backs with water holes off the road to the left .Great glassing oportunities when you get to the top .

fldrw22 are you talking about Cave Mtn? Thats a good spot to go also. Plus you can head to cooper canyon and you might see something in there too.

I dont kmow the names only how to get there.At the lake road you have to turn right keep going past the lake ,dont forget to enjoy the georgous veiws ,a few miles down the road you can either go left or a short distance further another left or you start turning to the right ,you will start up over top of a summit and down the backside of Jurasic Park.I met an old timer in there who called it Jurasic park,when I asked why ,he stated ,because the elk are as big as dinosaurs in there .And from what I have personally seen ,hes absolutely right .
