Proclamation 04-10 big game 25 counties un the new unit "L" under gun season 3 deer per day no more then 2 antlered per season. Gun season opens the Saturday before Thanksgiving and closes Jan 3 2005. I would say that is close to 40 days of hunting and around 120 dear. I think I am sober now.
* Move early youth hunt to the last weekend in October as discussed last year.??
* Move 1st segment of muzzleloader season to open the 1st weekend in November as proposed last year.??
* Close gun season on Friday, January 7, 2005 and move late Young Sportsman hunt to January 8-9, 2005.??
* Divide the state into three (3) deer units.
?Unit A - moved 25 counties to Unit L.
?Unit L - "Liberal". Created Unit L from 25 high harvest counties from Unit A. This Unit will employ much more liberal antlerless harvest limits in an effort to control populations.
Unit B - Remain the same.??
* Set Unit L bag limits as follows:
?Archery season - 6 deer, no more than 2 antlered per season.
?Muzzleloader season - 6 deer, no more than 2 antlered per season.
?Gun season - 3 deer per day, no more than 2 antlered per season. Type 94 License is still required for antlerless harvests.??
* Unit B - During 1st segment muzzleloader, either sex is allowed on FIRST 3 days instead of last. The intent is to continue to allow antlerless hunting on the weekend days.??
* Add several new counties to the antlerless hunting program, and expand quotas and hunts in several others as we move further to restrict herd growth where desired.??
* Redesign Special Hunt Table for more readability. Eliminated Unit L counties from table and increased quotas and bag limits for individual counties based on regional recommendations. Added several new counties to the quota antlerless hunt syste
