This is my wifes buck from this year. She was nice enough to let myself and Grandpa go get it with the mules the next day. Thats why I got to pose with it and not her. For any of you that were alpine the first weekend of hunting season this year, you know how nasty it was.

LAST EDITED ON May-25-04 AT 11:52PM (MST)[p]Here's mine, killed about 200 yards away from hers. Her deer had about 100 pounds on mine, but mine had more points. The feud wages on.

"field photos" as promised. This was my first "big" mule deer. I was a happy teenager growing up in the Methow Valley, where the only conversation in math class was about hunting.

Hey Boneaddict, can you post a pic for me? I sent it to your email a couple weeks ago but you must not have gotten it. Let me know where to send it if you can..................rf

Here's a late season buck, that put another year of venison in the family freezer, and another rack in my horn pile. The cape wasn't saved, so I've yet to get this one mounted. Its sitting in the garage gathering dust.

Posted for huntnphool: An absolute perfect Methow Valley Deer. Sorry, I did get your picture, but I sent you a note back asking if I could post it, and when I didn't hear back, I thought that was a big NO. I just added it to my private collection. It just dawned on me who you were. Thanks for sharing. I think this buck is AWESOME! Send me more if you have them.

If I may answer, "the alpine" last season was anywhere above 4500' on the east side of the divide in the north Cascades of Washington. Starting Saturday afternoon and continuing through early Monday morning, it crapped down between 8" and a foot or more of wet snow, depending on elevation.

Probably the same day bone's photos were taken, I was searching a nasty tag-alder hillside for my deer carcass and my two pillowcases of boned out meat from the front half of my deer. Could hardly tell where I was - it looked completely different when covered in 6" of snow. Finally found the meat - it was almost completely covered with snow, and it was snowing heavily.

Bone, you should have let that first deer come ALL the way to your front door instead of only 20ft. J/K. Nice deer. Must have been pretty cool growing up around there.

He's absolutely right, thats what I meant about Alpine. Here is a fellow Monser Muley member with his first Mule Deer compliments of the Methow, and his "favorite" huntn' partner. He'll probably kick my butt for posting this, but you know....what are friends for. Lets see if he's watching.

I cant wait for hunting season, boneaddict you sure has fiqured them methow deer out, way to go.

Hey Muleyslayer, one day on the last day of the season, a 6x6 muley walked by the front of my house. There were always nice whities running around in the alfafa fields there, but where this guy came from???. It was a hundred yards. Unfortunately everyone in my family had tagged out, so we just let him go.

How do ya'll like my dogleash sling on that old '06. Hehee

Thanks Doug, I dont have any of those digitized. I sure hope to improve on both of them this year!

I hadn't noticed the sling, but I did notice the blood on the end of your nose. Those were the good ole days! Did we skip class for that hunt? I know I used to borrow ole Pache's notes from you alot during that time of year. I'm not sure what I did when we went hunting together. Yep next fall, we'll have to start up Idaho Bone.

OH, I'm sure we skipped a Friday at least.

I"m sure your Idaho Bone thread will be sweet, with a 170+ Shiras and a 160+ muley or whitey! SOund good?

Yep, nice one Huntnphool!
