Goose Prairie unit help

12 years and finly drew a elk tag Goose Prairie unit. Want to start scouting any recomdation where to start. Thanks for any ideas. Is this a good area or did I waste my points.

I've never hunted in there but I believe it can be a pretty decent area. I also believe ridgerunner drew that tag last year. Might want to try and get in contact with him, he's usually willing to help out.

Archery, Muzzleloader or Rifle?...it will make a difference where you find them in that unit.

Then again...elk are where you find them.

me and my cousin drew goose prairie in 2000, i shot a 7x8 and he shot a 5x6. PM and i can give you a few starting points. we hunted up behind whistling jacks. The best time to scout is during the muzzleloader season, they were bugling all over and that gave us a good starting point on where they were. Its pretty thick country. Alot of elk in there though.
