just curious if anyone has been out there in the last couple of weeks. shceduled to hunt the early archery season in 16d. the local biologist says it has been one of the better years for elk conditioning/antler growth. if anyone has any pics of 16d i would love to see them... the wait is just about killing me.

Drew the same hunt and will be heading up there this week to set up a trail camera and do some scouting. Plan on doing a nine mile loop. Will fill you in next week on what was there and conditions...probably water everywhere like last year. Hopefully this cool weather will get them bugling early this year like last year. The bulls were bugling by the 5th of last year when my and my father went two for two...God willing we will do the same thing this year!!!!!

thanks i'll be looking forward to your findings! i am thinking the same thing about the rut activity being a little earlier than normal. i should be able to make it there by the 5th or 6th. hopefully the hunting pressure is gone and the temps are just a little cooler by then. how bad are the roads if rains?

what hunt do you have I am assuming that you have the second if your arriving on the 5th - 6th i was down there this week and the bulls are big and the cows are fat. all water holes are full at least where ii checked.
