I am guessing deer?The unlimited hunt.Anyway,I hunted it A few times but always in sept.In the high country,nov. will be A different story.Call fish and game and ask for the local gamewardens phone nunber,he will give you all the info you need,good hunting

big unit. wolves a factor. early is pretty much the only option unless you have a snowmobile. some nice buck's around the artillary dome area. my family owns the franklin d. mine up there and we have seen some nice bucks up high in august when we go in to do asay work.

I hunted it '96 - '01, got my first buck there in '96.

BIG country. Be in good shape, even if you are going on horses. Lots of all the big predators. Major fires in the area in the last 3 years. One of them hit my old spot. I hope to go up this summer to see how bad it is. We had spotty success, seems to be very dependent on weather.

I am hunting Elk in this unit in Sept. I see there is a Muley season at the same time.

The question is would you buy a deer tag and hunt deer too?

You can buy a general deer tag for Unit 27, so unless you drew a controlled hunt tag for somewhere else or you want to purchase a Clearwater tag, I can't see why you wouldn't have it just in case you run across something huge.

Thanks for your advise. I thought the samething. just a money thing now. Elk hunt in Idaho and a deer hunt in Nevada. If I buy another tag I might be in touble with the little lady. owell!
