velvet, no velvet or Black Velvet

After two or three shots of Black Velvet we can vent about the rest. The end question before we all got locked up about Velvet. I think the issue is more that it is July, in the middle of summer, that this happened, not during a general season where everyone has an oppurtunity.

I personally hate velvet. Hard antlered always. Have always been that way. Don't care to change, but thats MO. Has nothing to do with this.

LAST EDITED ON Aug-01-07 AT 00:57AM (MST)[p]July is early but to me it really doesn't matter when an animal is shot as long as it is in a legal season with a legal tag. People ##### if it is shot during the rut or late season on winter range. You can't blame the hunter if the season starts in July, he's just doing what is allowed. I would hate to try and get one field dressed and back to the meat locker in 90 degree temps.

Oh ya, I say no velvet.

I agree about the temps. I think I actually feel the fall air coarsing through my veins. You guys have to know what I am talking about. That first deep breath of fall air. OH MY GOD its a rush. I just don't think I'd have the same rush. Can't say I've tried it though. Washington bear season opens today Aug 1st. I can't imagine trying to field dress a bear in 100 degree temps. You better be standing next to a walk in.
