Don't feel like the "Lone Ranger", I did not draw the Deer, Elk or Sheep tags either.
Oh well, just another point added next year to the draws. The only place I will be hunting for sure is MT.

Nice job, Rackmaster.

I pulled another pref. point for elk and deer, got my 3rd deer choice (D11/D13/D15). Thank goodness I pulled a decent muzz tag in Colorado for Elk and Deer......

i drew la panza bull tule elk a couple of years ago. alot of private ranches with BIG bulls. you should do good with cow tag on public ground.

I drew an x9a tag for the second year in a row. After passing on a couple small forkies there last year maybe I'll be rewarded with a real shooter! Mike

Adding Ca. to the growing list of unsuccesful draw results .Struck out in Ut. Mt. Or. Nv. and now Ca. Sure hope Wy. breaks the streak . Will backpack into the A and B zones in search for an over sized blacktail . Good luck to those who drew .

My son & I drew X1. We have hunted X3B and X3A but his will be our first encounter in X1. Perhaps one of you have experience in this zone and can point us in the right direction. We like to camp near a small lake to fish. We specialise in hunting the sage. We will not hesitate to hike in 2 miles to find a good area. Monsters are not necassary. My son does like to shoot 4x4s. I enjoy spending time wth him and sharing the hunt. He is five for five, one shot kills.
We still dream of the sheep, elk, and antelope tags just like the rest of you. We always fall back to hunting local Blacktails when we do not draw.

RE:x3b

I got lucky and got the draw, but I don't have a clue where to go. Can I get some help.

RE: x3b

RE:x3b

Thanks for the feedback. Emailed a guide and he said he charges $250.00 a day on public land. How does that sound. Thanks Jim

Any advice on where to hunt in X3A? It will be our first trip up to that area and we have no idea of where to start other than the postsed places on DFG website.

There are good access' on public land (BLM). Need to get a map of that area and take a trip up there while you still have time before the rifle season starts on Oct 2nd.
Where do you live? Don't wait till the last minute to start looking for a place or plan of attack, go this weekend or next, but start.
I got a X5A tag back in the late 80's and having never been in the area before, took off one weekend and drove up there and check the whole unit boundary's and where private and public lands were. Made a whole lot easier on what to expect later on and give me an idea where I would start hunting once season opened.
Jump in your PU and take a drive this weekend and get a feeling for what the area is like and know the unit boundary's are.
