I just read this in another forum, Has anyone else heard anything. I know its from the whitetail world, but still hits the hunting community:

I received word this afternoon from Brian Andrews of Independence, Iowa, that the mount of his new Iowa state record non-typical whitetail was stolen from his home over the weekend.

The theft is currenly under investigation, but I wanted to help get the word out to the deer hunting community. Please feel free to pass this message on to others or post it on other message boards.

Anyone with information about the theft is urged to contact the Buchanan County Sheriff's Department at (319) 334-2567

That would be a horrible experience, but I would imagine there is some hope of recovering the head. It seems there are a lot of people in the know about large antlers and they could recognize the buck if it ever surfaces.

Isn't the "New" Iowa NonTyp record the Albia buck, which is also the largest Whitetail ever killed by a hunter?? The young man who shot it is T Lovstuen and they sold the buck to Bass Pro Shops. The buck scored 319 and change.

2 Point, what did the kid get for the "Albia Buck"?? They may have not released that info, but I'm curious. I was born and raised within 50 miles of Albia. Dad still lives there.

I didnt know that Bass Pro bought it. Pity.

I've seen the buck pics, they should've had it insured and I think any body can recognize the buck.....

The number that came out of that sale is somewhere around 100 thousand dollars. seems to me like i would have held out for more. but thats the unofficial number that leaked out.
